Since renaming the Hydraulic Engineering Company to Versatile in 1963, the focus has been on large 4WD tractors. They enjoyed success with the 150 ‘Push-Pull’, a tractor that could operate in either direction with a seat that rotated 180 degrees. The company was sold to Ford-New Holland in 1987 who continued manufacturing Versatile tractors. When Case IH and New Holland merged, Versatile was sold to Buhler Industries in 2000. In 2008 Buhler announced it would start manufacturing Versatile branded tractors once again.
