SAME Deutz-Fahr is the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of tractors, having acquired Hurlimann, Lamborghini and Deutz-Fahr during its 50 years of manufacturing. The Italian company also owns a small percentage of AGCO, building some of their tractor range. Interestingly, founder Francesco Cassani built the world’s first ‘farm tractor’ with a diesel engine, 15 years before starting SAME in 1942. In 2011 SAME Deutz-Fahr sold their one-millionth tractor.
