Holman Brothers were founded in 1801 and started as manufacturers of mining equipment. In 1894 Holman built the largest ever compressor plant in Cornwall, and developed and manufactured compressors before floating the company in the late 1940’s. In 1954 Holman purchased the Climax Rock Drill and Engineering Works, formerly Stephens Iron Foundry, and introduced Britain’s first single stage oil flooded rotary screw compressor. In 1968 Holman merged with BroomWade to form CompAir.
