There was a saying in the construction equipment industry that ‘All roads lead to Galion’. This was due to their world famous graders being used to build roads worldwide. Galion Iron Works also manufactured rollers, cranes and tractors among other machinery products. The name remained despite acquisitions by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company in 1929 and Dresser in 1973, although it did take a hiatus for six years until Dresser’s merger with Komatsu saw the name re-emerge in 1992. From 1995 the name could be found on just three basic graders.
