Toyota

The Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1937, after starting life making automated looms in 1924. Eighty percent of Toyota’s built 20 years ago are still on the road today. The fastest selling car of all time is the Toyota Corolla with one sold on average every 37 seconds since its debut in 1966, totalling a staggering 40 million sales. In that same year Australia started importing the Corolla, the first country to do so, and today one in five cars sold in Australia is a Corolla. Toyota, the biggest automotive manufacturer in the world, and fourth largest company of any kind, spends $9 billion per year on research, more than any other company on Earth. There are 1.7 million Toyota hybrids on the road, including the famous Prius, more than any other manufacturer.
