Ferruccio Lamborghini started a successful tractor company after fulfilling his service in World War II. Legend has it he got into building sports cars when he took his Ferrari 250GT to Enzo Ferrari to ask for a replacement clutch part. Enzo replied, “you’re just a silly tractor manufacturer, how could you possibly know anything about sports cars?” Four months later he unveiled his first car, the Lamborghini 350GTV. Classics such as the Miura, Duablo, Murcielago and Countach followed with outstanding success. The world’s most expensive car is a Lamborghini, the Veneno, valued at $4 million. Only four were made, three were sold and one resides in the Lamborghini museum. The Volkswagon Group via its subsidiary brand Audi now owns Lamborghini.
